As The Mouse Sees It
Altogether too much is being made of that shitass Congressman who wrote "suggestive" emails to 16 year old boys. I hear that the so-called religious-right is having "second thoughts" about their allegiances, that because of this "incident" they're actually beginning to question the ethics of the sorry shits they have alligned themselves with. Pisses me off.
Since that "story" broke, over 500 Iraqi men, women, and children have been slaughtered in the streets of their homeland -- over 100,000 since the boob in the White House lied us into the murderous adventure he calls "the war on terrorism."
And the religious-right is having second thoughts because of the actions of one perverted pipsqueak? Holy shit.

Well, good for them, actually. There are greater sins in the world, to be sure, but it's a start.
The appalling thing is that he was allowed to get away with his obsession for so long, and was even put in charge of the committee to write the law which may be his own undoing.
Mark Foley is just the tip of the old-boy-network iceberg, like the first priests in the Catholic church to actually get caught. There are probably just such shitasses on the Democratic side of the aisle, and I think it's time to expose them all.
We're not going to stop the killing in Iraq any time soon; let us not sweep this sexual-predator stuff under the rug just yet.
I agree with everything you said.It pisses me off too..I wonder how many congressmen, senators and other high profile people have written the same sexual emails to young pages, male and female. This is a terrible thing.and even worse, they think they can get away with it.
OK ladies. I guess I should have said, "First we crucify the petty criminals, then we ..." do whatever. I had thought to do my bit for pointing out the hypocrissy of "having virtues, moral principles, or religious beliefs that one does not really possess," (Websters) but apparently that sin has been made so complete a part of American society it can no longer be abjured. Pity (a polite synonym for "shit.")
Yeah, I read that, John. Now the pundits can begin to argue over the methodology of the counters ... as if killing 100,000 were somehow not so significant as killing 655,000 ... or 1.
Then there is this blogpost posing the question about the significance of the Foley scandal vis-a-vis Bush's denial process and even the existence of God. Check it out!
Mouse, you are absolutely right, it really doesn’t make a difference whether it’s one 1 or 655,000 or 655,001. There is however a reason to keep counting. Robert Fisk in his monumental book, “The Great War For Civilization / The Conquest of the Middle East”, makes the case for counting the dead as necessary for us to “bear witness” to their loss.
This one book that every American and Westerner should read if they have any hope or desire to understand why certain people fly planes into certain buildings.
As to the validity of the numbers I refer you to this commentary from the editor of the Lancet

Wonder where the mouse is these days anyhow. Hasn't been to my blog in quite a while.
